Oh man, what a trip. It was my sophomore year and I remember that each student had to give $40.00 for their portion of the trip. THEN we had to raise money to cover the rest. We were all so excited, airplane ride, marching in the biggest parade of the year......ahh what could be better.
I remember someone coming from the parade board and watching our routine, as a majorette we wore our wool uniforms for the exhibition. Man were we hot in that Florida sun. Then our director Pat, when asked if we had any other uniforms said 'well yes we have sequin uniforms also'. Yep you guessed it that is what they wanted to see.
DANG were we cold. The staff actually had to put us in the lobby of the Macy's Department store prior to our step off to keep us warm. My mother told me when I returned that during the broadcast the commentator said "no folks, don't adjust your color dials those girls are actually purple they are so cold". We laughed for a couple years about that one. Even though we froze our butts off I wouldn't have changed it for the world.
A lot of things happened that trip, one not so funny at that time was that a bird flying over Mrs. Townsend's head decided to .... you know... she had to find a salon real quick :)
Welcome to the lives of the Crazy-real HouseWomen of Lake Worth. We are a diverse bunch of super strong women, sometimes a little crazy, but always REAL. We have been through many things in our lives and our main connection to each other is the high school we attended and the town in which we lived and played. We hold many fond memories of Lake Worth Florida. We hope you enjoy reading about our lives and our adventures and laugh along with us.

Trojan Head
Haha, this title could definitely bring out the crazies. I remember Lake Worth High when it was simple to get from the Senior Steps to the East Building. I remember when they put in I-95 behind the school and created a parking lot for the students, stopping us from parking in front of the band room. :(
As a member of the......what was it again ? oh yeah student council haha I fondly remember putting up scaffolding and painting the Trojan Head maroon. I think I got more paint on the wall underneath the head though.
The only thing I remember about that gym was it was HOT, smelly and I attempted the gymnastics portion of PE there. That was hysterical, my first run at the horse ended with me launching off the spring board and promptly screaming thru the air then grabbing the horse with both arms and legs, swinging to the right ending up hanging upside down while holding on for dear life. Everyone in the class was laughing to my distress.

Just Joined the Group
Hi All! I have never done a blog before so bear with me! I am one of the crazy women who managed to survive high school in Lake Worth (and enjoy it), raised a family in Lantana and both of my kids went to Lake Worth High. My ex husband, who I happened to marry right out of high school, worked for the City of Lake Worth utilities. Heck, I even did a stint of working at the City as the payroll administrator and then over to utilities to try my hand at administration. Which sucked by the way!
I live now with my wonderful husband Mark in a tiny, tiny town in Middle Tennessee. We moved here in 2004 and love it. Yes I do miss being "back home" but most of all I miss my kids and 5 grandkids. They are all in Lake Worth and Boynton Beach.
I liked living in Lantana because you just knew where everything was in that area. I mean you knew where to go to get your car fixed, your nails done, your hair cut just the way you liked it. So some of you in the group, fill me in on the changes you have seen in LW. When I was there in February, I couldn't believe they had built a wall in front of the Trojan Head on the back of the PE Bldg!
As far as crazy, I have mellowed considerably but do I have stories to tell of things that went on that I thought I would either be dead or in jail!
